DEP Biologist Min Huang at March Meeting
DEP Migratory Bird Biologist Min Huang will attend the March 25th meeting of NWCSC to discuss his research and future projects relating to the American Woodcock.

Supreme Court Hears D.C. v Heller 2A Case
Oral arguments were presented before the Supreme Court Tuesday, the 18th in the D.c. v Heller 2nd Amendment Case. The arguments for both sides can be heard at: www.downrangetv/rkba/dc-v-heller.htm Both the aruments presented and the Justices responses are facinating and demonstrate the best that is America. The case has now been heard and we should have a decision in June.

CT Sportsmen's Legislative Caucus
Three Council delegates, along with three associates from RGS attended the reception held at Cabela's on February 7th. The Council made a donation to the Caucus and the members attending enjoyed a great opportunity to speak directly with the leaders of the Caucus and DEP Commissioner Gina McCarthy.

Housatonic WMA Habitat Management Project
NWCSC in cooperation with CT DEP is sponsoring a habitat management project on a portion of the Housatonic River WMA. This project will be conducted from Dec 11th through the 18th about 5 miles south of Cornwall Center on the west side of Rt #7. We will be reclaiming 18 acres of old field land, renewing habitat to benefit small game and songbirds. All are welcome to stop by and view the work. Just be sure sure to stay well away from any operating equipment.

Legislature Passes Range Disclosure Bill
Both houses of the CT State Legislature have voted to pass HB 6992, "AA Requiring The Disclosure Of The Presence Of A Gun Club Or Shooting Preserve To Prospective Real Estate Purchasers" We thank Senator Andrew Roraback for introducing this legislation at our request, and for his careful work over the past six months to see this bill pass. We also thank Represenative Anne Ruwet for adding her support to this bill early in the session, and all of our Northwest CT legislators who helped win approval.
